The fifty of the finest seacoast’s restaurants are set to participate in the 24th Annual Hampton Beach Seafood Festival, which kicks off next Friday on Ocean Boulevard. The Hampton beach seafood festival is counted among the top 100 events in North America. Jude David, Seafood Festival Chairman, said that the annual end-of-summer event has evolved over the years.

About Hampton Beach Seafood Festival

It was the month of May in 1988 when a small group comprising of Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce business owners congregated at the State Park on the southern tip of Hampton Beach to organise the 1st Annual Seafood Festival. The event was held solely for the purpose of promoting Hampton’s local restaurants and offer varieties of their seafood dishes. The first edition of event was marred with the bad weather but it didn’t deter the spirit of organisers.

Subsequently, in the 1990 the location and date was shifted to where and when the event is organised these days. This event now marks the end of summer season and held the weekend after Labor Day.

The event was acclaimed as one of the best 100 events by the American Bus Association in 1996, 2001, 2003, 2006 and 2007. In terms of attendance, the event is estimated to attract more than 150,000 visitors each year.
